About Dr. Roberts

Christopher A. Roberts, MD recently joined the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in summer 2021.

Dr. Roberts is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. He treats a wide range of injuries and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. His work includes advanced arthroscopy and arthroplasty of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He is committed to providing each of his patients with the most educated and highly personalized care. From consultation to surgery, minimally invasive, or non-surgical treatment and rehabilitation, Dr. Roberts believes in administering compassionate patient care throughout every step of the treatment process. Having overcome a sports injury himself, a femur fracture, Dr. Roberts emphasizes a wholesome patient-centric experience.

Dr. Roberts graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a Bachelor of Science in biology and earned a Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville where he trained and operated at UF Shands Hospital, Mayo Clinic in Florida, and Nemours Children’s Specialty Care at Wolfson Pediatric Hospital. Subsequently, Dr. Roberts completed a subspecialty fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, SC.

Dr. Roberts is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopic Association of North America (AANA), Hawkins Society, and has been honored by his peers with “The Most Outstanding Resident Teaching Award.”

Outside of work Dr. Roberts enjoys attending sports games, recreational activities and being outdoors with his wife and their son, daughter and golden retriever, Champ. Dr. Roberts and his family are proud and excited to be serving the Venice community.
